Bill Clinton Adopts My Marketing Approach To Global Warming
When the former President recently talked about “climate change,” I stopped and listened.![]()
Gone where the hoots and jeers usually reserved for Gore, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., DiCrapio and others of the Hollywood clueless crowd when they preach about the “planetary emergency” from the door of their carbon emission afterburners (limos and private jets).
Then I saw this article online:
Bill Clinton Takes On Climate Change and thought it was clever how he (or his people) got me to think differently about global warming by reinventing the term as “climate change.”
Got my attention, right? Perhaps it snagged yours as well. I think I can safely say that the term “global warming” is now synonymously linked with deception, hypocrisy and controversy about how to accurately interpret scientific data and not sensationalize and skew it to fit a conclusion.
But Clinton’s “climate change” phrase lacks that baggage. Smart. Some might even say . . . “slick.”
While “global warming” is questionable, the fact that our global climate is changing is undeniable. Nice repositioning.
So I listened to Clinton and thought he made some valid points. His message and his site were missing the scary, though misleading graphics — and in a surprising twist, he’s focused more on holistic change, not just the environment.
Check out the Clinton Global Initiative, I think it’s worth a shot. Though I must be clear, this is an initial, tentative assessment.
I’ve been wrong about Clinton before when he claimed to “not have sex with that woman.” Well, he got impeached for that. Perhaps he’s learned a few things about underestimating the intelligence of the American public.
Or perhaps not. Either way, time will tell — it always does.
Also couldn’t help noticing that there’s no collaborative team-up between him and Gore. Interesting, it looks like it’s 2000 all over again with Gore out there doing what Gore does and his former boss and running mate MIA.
Hmmm. Curiouser and curiouser.
